I put a motion to Bolton Council that would have saved the iconic Palais de Danse / Ikon theatre but the Labour group voted en masse to block it, claiming their policies already protected historic buildings in the town. Then Labour went on at a recent planning meeting to vote to allow the Ikon / Palais de Danse to be demolished. So much for their policy to protect historic buildings.
